They came from miles around to celebrate the ‘Family of ’64, mini reunion’, or the ‘class of ’64 mini reunion’, or ‘My Cousin Vinny’s family reunion and Hagerman Fire Department Fund-Raiser’, all disguises for Sista Tanj Gerina’s birthday bash.
In attendance were Pat (my hand holding classmate) and her husband, my cousin Vinny, The lovely Joanne was there Tew, dancing with the most eligible bachelor, who had her on the dance floor all night, Judy, Judy, Judy Hunter, and of course the good Sista Tanj-Gerina!
Now the lovely Lady Tew mesmerized everyone with her dance partner as she twirled her way around the dance floor, to a standing ovation by all who witnessed it. No pictures were allowed because her dancing partner who will remain anonymous didn’t want his famous starlet wife to know.
Since it was her night to celebrate her birthday a day early, we let Sista Tanj lie about her age, made sure to help her on and off her chair, and Judy, Judy, Judy, always a good friend would wipe the good Sista’s chin when needed.
The entertainment was by Louie Valentino and his band Somewhere in Time, and I must say they are great! Sista Tanj, eschewed her habit and got out there and danced the night away! She was an inspiration when she hobbled out to the center of the dance floor, tossed her walker aside and said: “Let’s Dance Baby!”
A beautiful cake was presented to her complete with candles (all 70, one for each year) and a beautiful gift was presented to her selected by yours truly. I won’t go into details but it came in a jewelry box!
P.S. I can’t reveal her age she said.

Had a great time that night. It's fun getting together with your friends from school. We don't put on any airs, just want to enjoy each other's friendship and have fun. Hopefully my math is right, but it's 2 1/2 for each year, and including 1 for good luck.
Love, Carol
