FOR GOD’S SAKE

There is an interesting phenomenon on Facebook, which seems to be a norm now. If you take a stand and post it, how dare anyone challenge you?  And if one does respond then tell the world that you love Jesus, who is your savior. Quote from the Bible by all means possible, and your self-righteousness will save your day. After all, you just quoted the Bible!

I have always found it offensive when people wrap themselves in the American flag, and declare themselves patriots, who do not do the patriotic thing, and that is to give public discourse a chance. Instead, with their Bible quoting, they go out and buy into a particular view totally, like sheep, rather than question everything.

I’d rather see a person who deeply believes in God keep it to himself, not preaching how holy he or she is, no one cares, no one really with an ounce of brains wants to know about. Religion is a man or woman’s personal relationship with God, and it should never be for public consumption. People who do that in my opinion are phonies, afraid that God will judge their own personal behavior, so off they go trying to make points with God. Sad.

And like the American flag wrappers, who take pride in the destructive power of war based on this country’s machinery and weapons, they overlook the destructive power it wields over children and innocents who suffer on both sides of the battlefield, forgetting that they send in sons and daughters to die, for what? They should try to put their Jesus loving proclamations to good use and pray for peace, Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of GOD!
