As much as I dislike Trump as a man and as a President of the United States, I must give him credit for what he is doing, following up on his promises as a candidate for the presidency.
Not only is he following up on his promises, he is doing it in defiance of his advisors, throwing away the norms and doing a lot of what we all want but don’t say we want. His dismissal of aides, cabinet members and professionals in the various sectors of government only illustrates his dogged determination to get what he wants to be done.
All too many times it seems we elect people who settle into a comfort level and we even re-elect them to consecutive terms. And what have they accomplished? Nothing.
I hope he loses the election bid for a second term. I don’t like the way he illustrates his lack of knowledge of history, his missing grasp of situations and his destruction of the dignity of the office. One thing I can’t abide by is the amount of lying he does to try to achieve is goals and the fact that he has not been forthcoming about his taxes, is so-called disassociation of his business interests and the emoluments clause that should dictate his behavior as president. There is also the obstruction of justice and contempt of Congress lead me to believe he has a house of cards and needs to go.
