IT’S THE NUMBERS!

Every day I sit and watch a little bit of the news. The TV brings constant updates of the tragedy to mankind that is COVID-19, or the Coronavirus. At first, the numbers seem somewhat innocuous being so small, then the reports from China, Italy and the rest of the world mount up. Then the attest count estimates a quarter-of-a-million people will die in the US alone.

To say, the EPA was mistreated by the Trump administration in the reduction of funding would be an understatement, leaving it inadequately prepared for this pandemic, which is being prolonged by Trump’s incompetence and ignorance, yet there is the belief that after this, the son-of-a-bitch will get reelected.

He should be investigated and tried for what he did. There will be a lot of dead people because of him and his administration. The Republican Party should be disbanded and a law enacted that states no political party can be named Republican in any way.

The economy that has been growing for the past eight years has now been destroyed. People will starve, lose their homes and live in despair, businesses will fail and men will once again commit suicide from the disaster, all caused by one incompetent individual.

What will it take for us as a nation to recover if we ever do? What must we change so these events that have occurred the past 3½ years are never repeated?

We can start by disbanding the Electoral College, preventing ideologies that have no place in America to get the power the last one allowed, we must respect the will of the majority, not the minority to determine the course of this country.

There should also be a better mechanism in the stock market that shuts it down after losses reach 5 to 10% of the total value. If we are to rebuild, we will need the market in good shape, not roller-coasting from day-to-day with its uncertainty.

We also need to have in place stronger laws about the power of Congress, orders of the court, and conflict of interest that the present administration seems to flout with consequences.

I hope that once the so-called “President” is out of office, he be asked to explain it all in a court of law, including his taxes.
